I did a project on what if we could portray a song as a typeface. I used three songs and made typefaces for them. I also made multiple type specimens and put them in context.
I made this typeface for the song high hopes based on movement. I wanted to make a typeface through movement while listening to the song. I used dance and string as my research of movement for this song and found shapes and patterns that I then combined to form these letterforms. I wanted to create something that represented the colourfulness of the song as well as well as the highlight the high hopes part of the song. So I tried making a typeface that has a partial 3D form.
This is the lyric video I made with the typeface for the song as a type specimen. I used graphic illustration in the video and animated them to depict the song. I also added a context image to show where the video could be used.
